Ulta Haul ...Whoop Whoop!

Guess who had a ball at Ulta the other day?
Yea yea...it was ME :D

It wasn't intentional, but everything I purchased ended up being from the brand Essence...kind of odd, right?

From the Essence Blossoms etc... collection for Spring, I got a lipgloss called Naive, and three polishes. The polishes are I Like (mint green), Forget-Me-Not (periwinkle blue), and Bloom-A-Loom (lavender).
I also picked up all three of their new gel liners! I purchased London Baby (brown with shimmer), Berlin Rocks (purple with shimmer), and Midnight in Paris (black...no shimmer..BOO).
I also bought a mini nail polish called Irreplaceable. I can't wait to swatch that one..sooo much shimmmaaaah!!!

I also purchased two essence brushes. I bought their gel eyeliner brush, and the smokey eye brush, which is basically a small blending brush.

Here's the haul video, where I'm a bit more descriptive about the items:

ALSO, here's a song I've been jamming to all day! It reminds me of old school R&B a little bit from the late 90s... it's Mary J. Blige featuring Nicki Minaj. The song is called "Feel Inside". ♥ !

Sinful Colors Adventure Island Collectin = OPI Pirates Of The Caribbean Collection?

Lookie what I found at my local Rite Aid....

The new Sinful Colors collection, ADVENTURE ISLAND!!!
the colors left to right: Adventure Island, Open Seas, Seaweed, Star Fish, Verbena

But wait...
Don't these colors look familiar?
YES they do!
If you're a nail polish-aholic like myself, then you know that OPI released a collection this spring called the Pirates of the Caribbean collection. It was inspired by the movie with the lovely, handsome, pirate of my dreams Johnny Depp

see? Quite similar right?
Gotta love drugstore dupes and friendly, informative makeup forums!!! These Sinful Colors nail polishes retail for about $1.99, where as the OPI polishes retail for about $8.50 a piece. Also, a lot of colors from the Pirates of the Caribbean collection are sold out everywhere I go!
If you can't get your hands on those OPIs, or even if you just want to save a few bucks, I totally recommend these new Sinful Colors polishes! =D

Nail Of The Day: Sally Hansen Delphinium (Spring 2011 Tracey Reese Collection)

I seriously cannot get enough of Sally Hansen's Spring 2011 Tracey Reese collection!

Delphinium is the perfect dusty lavender for me! ^_^

I'm in love guys....

It's pastel, but not too pastel-y...just lovely!
Sally Hansen's Delphinium is available at Rite Aid and Walgreens for about $7.99. They were also carrying the Tracey Reese collection at Target last month, but I'm assuming most of the colors are sold out already since they were only $5 there. Feel free to still try your luck at your local Target if you're interested! I know if I tried, I would fail (totally not even close to being the luckiest person in the world, unfortunately...).

If you'd like to know more about Sally Hansen's designer collection for this Spring please click HERE for my original post!

What are your opinions on "dusty" pastel colors? Cute? Or not "Springy" enough? And did any of you pick up a color from Sally Hansen's spring line? =)

Mac Surf Baby Haul, Swatches & Review!

Hey loves! I finally have received everything I purchased from the Mac Surf Baby collection, so that means HAUL, SWATCHES & REVIEW!!!

I purchased one lipstick, three eyeshadows, and a blush. I've been eying the Surf The Ocean Pigment Stack that was also released with this collection, but every time I'm ready to purchase it it's sold out =(
*sad sigh*

The only lipstick I purchased was Hibiscus. Hibiscus is a lovely coral-y red lipstick. It's a cremesheen lipstick, so it slightly sheer but still moisturizing.

The only blush released in this collection was My Paradise. It's a coral blush, with a thick gold over-spray.

And here's swatches of both My Paradise and Hibiscus:
My Paradise on the left (over-spray & blush mixed, blush, gold over-spray) Hibiscus on the right

On to the eyeshadows!
Here's Sun Blonde

Swell Baby

Surf USA

And here's swatches of all three eyeshadows
L to R: Surf USA, Swell Baby, Sun Blonde
Finally, here's swatches of EVERYTHING

My favorite eyeshadow of the three I purchased is Surf USA. All of the eyeshadows are pigmented, but I feel like Surf USA had the best pigmentation.

My favorites from this entire collection are undeniably Hibiscus and My Paradise. I love how My Paradise looks on my skin tone, and Hibiscus is flattering on everyone! I also believe My Paradise works on a wide range of skin tones!

Lastly, here's my haul video of the Surf Baby collection
What did you guys think of this collection?

ANOTHER Failed Attempt At Nail Art: Mac Surf Baby Inspired

Yesterday I tried to create some nail art inspired by the new Mac Surf Baby collection. Initially, I had colored stripes going down the nail vertically. The colors were the same colors that were used on the boxes the makeup items came in. However, that just seemed boring to me. Then I kept going, kept changing it, kept adding bits, and now I'm not satisfied >:(

I WILL have a successful looking mani, and do a freak'n tutorial!
Yes I can!!!

NEW Revlon Fall 2011 Polishes!

I truly cannot wait for Fall now! Fall is usually my least favorite season out of the year. I don't like the weather, and I don't like walking over leaves everywhere I go...lol. Be that as it may, upcoming beauty products have got me yearning for this upcoming fall/autumn season!
Thanks to Teen Vogue editor Eva Chen, we all have a great preview of what to expect from Revlon in the Fall!

From left to right: Smokey Canvas, Blue Mosaic, Facets of Fuchsia, Starry Pink

I'm loving what I'm seeing so far from Revlon's Fall collection! Do you see a polish that catches your eye?

Outfit Of The Day/Night for the Burno Mars & Janelle Monae Concert!

Hola peeps!!!
Have I got a post for YOU!

The other day, I had the pleasure of going to a concert with a couple of my friends. It was a concert featuring Mayer Hawthorne, Janelle Monae, and Bruno Mars!!!
I am a fan of all three of the artists, so I had a BLAST!

Here's the outfit I wore:
I honestly didn't know that Mayer Hawthorne was going to perform until I got there! I love his music! If you've never heard of him, please look him up!
Here's a remix he did with Snoop Dogg of Snoop's song "Gangsta Luv". One of the best remixes EVER. He even performed this song at the concert :D

After Mayer Hawthorne was Janelle Monae.
She has got to be one of the best underrated artists of my time. Her creativity is through the roof!!!

She even painted a picture during one of her songs! Awesome sauce.

Also, trust me when I say she was grooooovin'.

If you've never heard of Janelle Monae (shame on you if you haven't!), here's an old song of her's you can listen to:

And, of course, there was sexy Bruno Mars!

He is such a great performer! And his voice...lovely.

If you would like to see a few clips form the show, and my complete outfit of the day, please watch below =)

Essie 2011 Fall Collection: Brand New Bag

I know this upcoming nail polish collection is not going to be everyone's cup of tea, but as far as I can see I'm going to love Essie's new Brand New Bag collection!

"The fall collection from Essie is called Brand New Bag and based on the philosophy of Essie Weingarten, founder of Essie Cosmetics, who believes that our accessories reveal much about us. The decadent choices are a recollection of the graceful styles from the 1940’s and 1950’s returning to classic sophistication and to ladylike glamour." - nailpro.com

I'm absolutely loving that muted pink color, as well as that rusty orange! This collection is scheduled to release in August, and now I'm pretty excited for Fall =)
What do you guys think of this new collection? Too muted for your taste, or just right?
