He he he...yea...I love green polish, and this baby, here, is NO exception!
All Fall long, I've been wearing dark colors on my nails, and even my clothes (surprisingly). Usually, I don't let the seasons determine my color palette as far as makeup, nail polish, and clothing is concerned. I have no idea what has taken over me this year, but I'm totally on a seasonal color scheme, and I don't mind it at all... :-\
This polish is In The Mist by Sinful Colors. It's one of the new polishes Sinful Colors released for Fall 2012, from their Enchanted Collection.
I love the murkiness of this polish! "Odd" colors always have a way of tickling my fancy (LOL).
I noticed how In The Mist looks different in each of my photos, but the first one is the most color accurate.
This polish only needed 2 coats to reach the opacity you see here! YAY!!! I love 2-coaters!
This polish is available at Walgreens and Rite-Aid, for only $1.99! \o/
What do you think of In The Mist? Perfect greenish-grey creme? Too dirty lookin' for your taste? Let me know below!
I never thought I could love a yellow polish so much....
UNTIL NOW!
Sally Hansen Complete Salon Manicure polish in Yellow Kitty is, hands down, my favorite yellow nail polish of this summer!
As some of you know, pastels are a favorite color group of mine. Pastel yellow is exceptionally ahead of the game in pastels for ME. I can't get enough of them! I love this polish so much, I've been wearing it all week!
A big let down is that Yellow Kitty is not as dreamy in application as it is in color :(
All I got was a streaky mess on my nails until the 3rd coat of polish, but for this color, I'll endure the painful application.
I especially loved wearing this polish with this outfit!
Because of this Nail Of The Day, I was sniffing my nails in public. Yes, it may sound cray-cray, but let me explain...
This nail color is Revlon Sublime Strawberry, one of Revlon's scented nail polishes! It smells so yummy, I couldn't resist sniffing my nails almost every time I looked at them. =P
It smells like Trident strawberry gum to me, which just happens to be one of my favorite gum flavors! LOL!
The lovely bubblegumpink color, along with the multi-colored shimmer, help to make this polish a winner in my book. The amazing scent of it helps a lot, too! Absolutely a new favorite for me. If you can get your hands on one of Revlon's scented polishes, please do so! You know you wanna have an excuse to sniff your nails in public, too! ;P
I've never heard of plums growing at beaches, but for a nail color like this, I'll let Maybelline slide!
This is Beach Plum, a limited edition polish from Maybelline's summer collection from two years ago. It's a creme polish, and it's a 2-coater! So pigmented & lovely!
It's more purple-y pink than it is plum, but I think that's what makes it a great color for the summer!
I wish Maybelline would've released another summer collection this year (really, I wish most of my favorite drugstore brands would've released gnarly summer collections...grrrr), but it's ok... I'll make due with my old wanna-be-plummy friend here.
While minding my business in Rite Aid the other day, I stumbled upon this lovely nail art duo by Revlon! It was in it's own seasonal display, and calling my name... O_O
These Revlon Nail Art French Mix duos are meant to be used to create a colorful French manicure, but I'm not too fond of French manicures myself. Even though the colors are complimentary to each other, I love them more separately! My favorite color of the two would have to be the periwinkle blue color! It's such a pretty dusty blue!
(above is the periwinkle blue color in the shade)
Have any of you picked up one of the new Revlon Nail Art French Mix Duos? If so, which one caught your attention? =)
Mac summer collections are usually my favorite makeup collection of the whole entire year, BUT this year I was quite disappointed. :(
And I say that as a certified MAC ADDICT.
This year, only 2 products tickled my fancy...those products being the Fleet Fast powder blush, and the Crew highlight powder!
Here is Fleet Fast blush!
This blush is SO gorgeous, I kid you not! It's a beautiful dark coral color with golden shimmer.
You can actually see the golden shimmer in this picture! SO LOVELY!!
Crew highlight is probably going to be my favorite highlight this summer! It's basically 3 - 4 products in 1, depending on how you look at it. The highlight has three different surface colors, plus the beige highlight overspray. My only issue is that the beige highlight is an overspray, so eventually you'll run out of highlight powder, and only be left with the three blush-like colors. Lucky for me, I really like the three colors! ^_^
The purple is more of a lilac purple, the pink is your basic shimmery light pink, and the orange is like the orange of a cream-sicle pop!
Here's swatches in the sun! R-L: Fleet Fast, Crew (lilac, pink, orange, beige highlight, mixed)
And here's the swatches under florescent light!
Overall, I feel like I picked some EXCELLENT products. I love the two products I bought. I also just bought Riviera Life lip glass, but I have to wait for it to arrive...BOO :(
Here's my haul video! ♥
If you purchased anything from this collection, what'd you get and what did you think about it? Please share your thoughts below! =)
I need to personally thank Revlon. Seriously. They have made my lips verrrry happy!
I found these beauties at Walgreens last night, and guess what? This week at Walgreens, Revlon is buy 1, get 1 half off! You guys know I was a happy camper!! Lol!
I boughtStrawberry Shortcake, Sweet Tart, Candy Apple, and Red Velvet.
FYI: The Revlon Colorburst Lip Butters retail for $7.49 each.
I love the semi-translucent caps of the lip butters! Very cute, don't ya think? The quilted pattern on each cap is typical of every Colorbrust lip product Revlon sells.
I've heard rumors of these babies being permanent, so let's hope that's true because they are amazing!
These lip butters are GREAT. Initially, I didn't think I'd like them because they are indeed a bit sheerer than a lipstick. Yet, they feel SO amazing on the lips! They are very very VERY moisturizing, and the texture of them is very creamy and nice. The pigmentation is not a big deal. Yes, they're a bit sheer, but you can always build up the coverage of the product.
I only have one swatch for you at the moment because I'm supposed to be getting ready for a bar-be-que..lol. Here it is ^_^
This is a swatch of the ColorBurst Lip Butter in Strawberry Shortcake!
It's a beautiful light pink! It's perfect because it's not too light. It's just right. As you can see from my swatch, the pigmentation is pretty good as well!
Above is another swatch, but this time in the shade. So far, this is my favorite of the four. I'll try to have more swatches soon!
What do you think of these lip butters? See any colors that tickle your fancy?
Soooo...the sickness that I thought was gone...is totally NOT.
Why me Baby Jesus??? :(
So I'm blogging while coughing, which is not as easy as it sounds. Especially whilst coughing, your whole body moves & shakes. Not a fun time...
BUT I told you lovely people that I would have this blog post up, so I'm putting it up! It's my first outfit of the day post that will be exclusive to my blog only. If you're subscribed to my youtube channel, you know I usually post an outfit of the day video there, and post the pictures of that same outfit here. From now on, I'm going to have more outfit of the day posts on my blog only. I'm pretty excited about doing this! I feel like it makes my blog a lil' more special ♥
Anyways, here it is!
Sweater - H&M
Necklace - Forever 21
Shoes - Forever 21
Belt - Thrift
Nails - China Glaze Skyscraper (ring finger), NYC Little Italy (middle), & Sally Hansen Shiny Penny (index pinky)
As you guys can see, I mixed a pastel with not only one, but two metallic colors- gold & silver! Yes, very odd combo, yet it WORKS! At least, I like to think so ; )
And here's a swatch of China Glaze Traffic Jam, one of the polishes I bought from Sallys recently. I mentioned it in a video, so I figured I'd swatch it in case anyone was interested in it! It's a very nice magenta-berry creme polish.
So what do you guys think of my outfit?
Also, what are your thoughts on China Glaze Traffic Jam?
There was a big trend going around the beauty/nail polish community either last year, or earlier this year (I can't really remember when...)called "Mannequin Hands". Having mannequin hands was wearing a polish so close to your skin color, that you hand resembled the hand of a mannequin. Kind of an odd sounding trend when I say it out loud to myself, but I thought it was pretty interesting when I first read about it. Shoot, I still do!
Now, months and months later, I think I have finallyfound my "mannequin hands" polish!
♥Finger Paints Catwalk Queen!♥
This is the best I can do when it comes to the mannequin hands trend.
It doesn't match perfectly but..*shrugs*...I like it! It wasn't even my intent to rock mannequin hands. It just happened!
Have you ever rocked "mannequin hands"?
What do you think of Catwalk Queen?
Finger Paints polishes are available at Sally's Beauty Supply stores =)
