Wonder Woman Nail Art FAIL

I can't believe I'm even posting this major FAIL.

Its a fail in so many different ways....
Instead of creating the Wonder Woman W's I created the retro version of the World Wrestling Federation W's...I forgot the extra line in-between the W's to make it look like her symbol..FAIL. I put my topcoat on too soon so the design is hella smudged..FAIL. This was free-handed, I should've had the design in my head before I even started -___- ...another fail!

It took me forever to do, so yea, I'm posting it anyways!!!

Fail........

It's ok though...I will soon prevail and create beautiful nail art again *runs to grab cotton balls and polish remover*

Don't Hate On The Dollar Tree!

If you're a nail polish lover like myself, and you've never stepped into a Dollar Tree store, you're missin' out honey! I know people that won't step into a dollar store because they think it's "low class" or whatever. I always just shake my head and go in and come out with little treasures. Then the same people that say the Dollar Tree is "low class" are the same people that ask me "Hey! Where did you get that nail polish from?". And then I tell them, an they wear a look of total shock and surprise! HAHA!!
I went into the Dollar Tree the other day, not thinking I was going to find much since the last time I went in they had the same beauty products from last month. I was surprised to find something I've been searching for for a couple of weeks...Covergirl Anti-Freeze! It's a polish that was discontinued a few years ago. Its another polish that came out when I wasn't and couldn't be into nail polish like I am today, so of course I missed out on it back in the day.I can't wait to swatch this color for you all! I think you guys are going to love it!

That's Anti-Freeze on the left and Peacock on the right, which is also a very pretty color. Just not as awesome as Anti-Freeze... they came in a pack so it was actually two nail polishes for a dollar! *fist pump*
What do you think of my purchase, my fellow bargainistas? Did I do ok?

Black Box Day! MAC Wonder Woman has arrived!! =)

I LOVE BLACK BOX DAY! My Mac Wonder Woman products have arrived in their pretty MAC Black Box, and I can't wait to show them to you all!!!
They arrived last week, but...I'm late to show them...as usual =P
Look at that cool artwork on the boxes! HOTNESS.

As you can tell, I LOVE Wonder Woman ^_^

Swatches and my thoughts on the products coming soon!

Drugstore Haul & Swatches & NEW Wet N' Wild Palettes & Covergirl Lipsticks!

Guess who went bargain hunting?

Not me! I came across many good sale items, but it wasn't intentional at all! CVS had this amazing beauty clearance sale that I happily participated in last month. This month it's supposedly over, but if you're lucky you can still find some greatly priced gems!

I luckily found that L'Oreal HiP Kohl Liner hidden behind an eyeshadow duo. It was only $2.37! And that Sally Hansen Xtreme Wear nail polish in Purple Pizzazz was only $0.79!!!!

I bought two of the new Covergirl Lip Perfection Lipsticks, one in Siren and the other in Divine. I plan on going back and getting a LOT more! These things are AMAZING! They're moisturizing and very pigmented! They exceed my expectations of drugstore lipsticks. I now have a new repect for Covergirl. These are my first Covergirl lipsticks, but they will NOT be my last! I'm in looove =D
Here's swatches of the Covergirl lipsticks and the HiP Kohl Liner in black Kohl. From top to bottom, it's Covergirl Lip Perfection in Devine, Siren, and on the bottom is the L'Oreal black kohl liner.

Here's my new babies!!! I love love LOVE these palettes! Wet N' Wild is just stepping their game up with every palette they create! These are the new Wet N' Wild 8-pan Color Icon palettes in Comfort Zone and Petal Pusher. There is also a blue palette that was released, but I'm probably just going to wait for the next sale before i get that one. I had to have these two though! They're are so pigmented and such a great value! Each palette in $4.99! For EIGHT colors! That's awesome sauce right there, and you know it!

Here's my swatches of the two palettes. The top 8 colors are from the Comfort Zone palette, and the bottom 8 are from Petal Pusher. To the left of the picture you'll notice 4 purple shades. Those are actually from one of the limited edition holiday palettes Wet N' Wild released last year called Sugar Plum Fairy. I swatched those colors because I wanted to show how similar they were to 4 of the colors from the new Petal Pusher palette. They are slight differences in the colors, but if you already have Sugar Plum Fairy and don't feel like spending an extra five bucks for the 4 completely different shades, then I'd say you could pass. I, however, really wanted those four new shades! ;P

Comfort Zone in shade
Comfort Zone without shade
Yea..there's just no shade for Petal Pusher..my bad!

What do you think of the items I hauled? Are they "haul-worthy"? =D

"Moment 4 Life" Nicki Minaj Inspired Makeup

"I believe that life is a prize...but to live doesn't mean you're alive"

That song is my jam of the week! I catch myself singing it all the time. I only wish that the radio stations would lay off of it for a day or two, so that I could get over it!

I did a makeup tutorial on Youtube inspired by Nicki Minaj's video for "Moment 4 Life". I chose to recreate the look she wore while she was in the gold outfit. It was basically a neutral eye with a pop of color on the bottom lid. Nicki does this look pretty often. Either she'll have a pop of color on the bottom lid, or glitter (as you guys already saw in my Nicki Minaj "The Creep" inspired tutorial). Here's a couple of pictures of the look. I really need to start taking pictures in the daylight, because my camera's flash washes me out =(
Pictures and more after the jump! Please read on!

Nicki Minaj at the 53rd Annual GRAMMY Awards

I consider myself a Nicki Minaj fan, however I was slightly disappointed in her outfit of choice for the 53rd annual Grammy Awards ceremony. To me, she went for the shock factor instead of the fashionable one. Don't get me wrong, I love the Givenchy ensemble. I'm an animal print LOVER. However, I think I would've appreciciated it even more if the items were separated instead of put all together.
I love leopard as much as the next diva, but not all like this. And the hair didn't help. I know she wanted to have people talking, but I know she has more style than this. I don't hate this outfit, but I don't love it either. I just think its too much with the bride of Frankenstein afro she's got going on, the leopard print hair, the leopard print shoes, the leopard print leggings, AND the leopard print dress... I still love her though!
And after pictures of her Grammy outfit were leaked online, she instantly became a trending topic on twitter! So in the end, she got what she wanted. Good for her!

I LOVE her makeup though (as always)! The glittery eyes and the pink lips = ♥
What did you think of this look? A hit or a miss?

Happy Valentine's Day NOTD!

Hello all my Valentine's day lovers (& haters :P)! I hope everyone is having a good day today, whether you have a Valentine or not! Just think of it this way...God blessed you with another day to live, so there's no reason to complain! This holiday isn't an official holiday anyways..it's not like you get school or work off to celebrate..lol. Make this V-Day a Me-day if you don't have a Valentine. Treat yourself!

Anyways, on to my NOTD specifically for V-Day!

it started off like this:

This is OPI Big Hair...Big Nails. I LOVE this color! OPI calls the formula a "sorbet" which is basically another name for "jelly" in this case. And luckily, I am a jelly lover! This is from their Texas collection.

this pic was taken in the sunlight

And THIS is my Valentine/Anti-Valentine's Day mani! I used OPI Black Shatter for the heart. I really like how it looks, I just wish my heart looked more like a heart! Lol! Please ignore the dent on my ring finger..it happened while I was trying to make the heart. Did anyone else wear a special mani for today?

New & Improved - NYX Nude On Nude Palette

A few months ago NYX released a palette that was sort of, kind of dupey to Urban Decay's ultimately sought after Naked palette. I believe it came with 9 neutral shades and two lip colors. Well, I guess NYX decided that the palette wasn't close enough to Urban Decay's so they revamped it. Let's just say, I couldn't be prouder.

The new Nude on Nude palette contains 20 different neutral eyeshadow shades and 10 different lipcolors.

Doesn't it closely resemble the Naked palette??? CRAZY!
The palette comes with a mirror and two applicators, one for lips and one for eyes. Yes..they included what seems to be a useless sponge-tip applicator..SMH. When will these cosmetic companies learn...

The new NYX Nude on Nude palette is retailing for $25 on nyxcosmetics.com . I am really excited for this palette. I love color, but I'm still a big neutral fan. SO far, this palette shows promise! What do you think?

FOTD ...Actually, It Was Yesterday's

Hey ladies! Guess what I did last Sunday? What I seem to do every Sunday recently.. And that's bowl my little heart out! I did pretty badly in my first two games, but towards the end I finally got my groove back. Here's the makeup look I wore to the lovely bowling alley.

Please ignore this weird look on my face. These pics were taken AFTER I got home from bowling. I look a little worn out, huh?!

What I used:
on the face
- Mac Studio Fix Fluid in NC42
- Mac Mineralize Skin Finish in Meduim Dark (I think...)
- Rimmel London Powder Blush in Santa Rose
on the eyes
- Wet N' Wild Color Icon Palette in Vanity (I used the shimmery light yellow highlight shade in the inner corner, the gold on the lid, the soft brown dupe in the crease, and the off white highlight shade as my highlight)
on the lips
- Revlon Colorburst Lipstick in Lilac

CHEEEEEEESE!!!!
I know, I know...very bad close up pic of the eye >_< I tried you guys..I tried...
And this is why I was so worn out..
 I WON THE GAME!!!!!!!!!
It probably hard to tell since this is the weakest cellphone pic that could ever be produced (thanks Motorola..) but I'm the person with the score of 113 BABY!

POW! POW! BZZZZZZ!

The title is in honor of the sound effects my shirt portrays. "POW!"..."BZZZZ!". I used to love comics as a kid. I loved everything from Archie's comics to DC comics. I kind of miss them. Maybe my t-shirt can make up for old times?

The t-shirt is from Forever 21. I cut it to make it shorter. I actually cut more than expected, but I think it still works for me.

The ring used to be my mom's. I think of superheros and 70s glamour queens when I look at it..

Another Rihanna S&M Music Video Inspired Makeup Look!

I couldn't help myself...I had to recreate another one of RiRi's makeup looks from the S&M music video, and make it my own! She had so many lovley makeup looks in one video, its hard not to do them all! Especially the gold and purple look...*happy sigh*

Here's my interpretation of the "red look". It's the makeup look she wore when she had the heart eye patch on, witht he curly afro wig.
Here's my "fun" picture! Lol!
Products used:
- Coastal Scents 78 palette
- Highlight color from the Wet N' Wild Vanity Palette
- Rock & Republic blush in Lust
- Maybelline Lipgloss in Born With It
- L'Oreal HiP Cream Eyeliner in Black
- L'Oreal Telescopic Mascara in Black
- Urban Decay 24/7 Pencil Liner in Zero

Old NOTD - OPI Sapphire In The Snow

Here's a mani I did in December. This a nail color from OPI called Sapphire in The Snow. I don't think this is your typical Christmas mani, but this polish is from an old OPI holiday collection. I was so happy to be able to find this color, because I was told that it was hard to find! I love blues, so this deep rich blue was a must for me.

OPI Sapphire In The Snow

My camera pulled the color up more purple, but it's actually a deeper blue =)

Rihanna "S&M" Music Video Inspired Makeup

I recently did a makeup tutorial inspired by one of the makeup looks Rihanna wore in her "S&M" Music Video. In the video, Rihanna is clearly wearing a blue shade of color on her eyes, however my inspiration initially came from pictures and screen shots of the video. I thought she was wearing teal! Oh, how wrong I was...lol. Here's a couple of pictures of how my look came out:

product list for the tutorial:
-Urban Decay Primer Potion
-Wet N' Wild Holiday Color Icon Palette in Golden Goddess
-Wet N' Wild Single in Penny
-Wet N' Wild Single in Nutty
-Wet N' Wild Color Icon Palette in Vanity
-Teal form an unknown Urban Decay palette
-L'Oreal Telescopic Mascara in Black
I plan on doing another makeup look from her "S&M" music video. I've just got to figure out which one! Did you like her video? What did you think of the makeup?

Throw Back: Easter Nail Art

I can't believe I never posted this picture! I did a nail art tutorial for this nail art design on my Youtube channel last Easter, but I never posted the picture on my blog =(
Here it is, in all its messy glory!

In case you can't tell, that's a chick on my index, flowers on my middle and pinky, and a heart on my ring finger. I did this nail art when I was very new to nails and nail art so its not my best, but I still love it =)
